Mr. Jeremy Gayed, partner and patent attorney at Barrett McNagny LLP, is the guest speaker for the June 2015, Fort Wayne Inventors Club meeting. Mr. Gayed’s presentation and discussion with club members will focus on intellectual property law, which he practices. In addition to intellectual property law, Mr. Gayed works in several other practice areas and he provides litigation services. Lawyers who practice intellectual property law are commonly referred to as “patent attorneys.” While a popular term, it does not capture the full scope of this type of practice, which not only includes patents, but other forms of intellectual property such as trademarks and copyrights. For more information about Mr. Gayed, see his bio on the Barrett McNagny website.
The meeting is June 11, 2015 at 7:00 pm on the IndianaTech campus. The Fort Wayne Inventors Club meets in the C3, which is in the Academic Building. Click here for a map.

Several club members attended the April 15th Vertical Leap meeting. It was a great event. Vertical Leap has been around in another incarnation before, and the reinvigoration of it was the brain child of Dave Sanders. Dave is the president and co-founder of Avenue 80, a software development company here in town. Dave describes Vertical Leap as a get together for “founders” who are entrepreneurial-spirited folks willing to share ideas in an open forum. Continue reading
Today’s article is a report about the recent WarriorHack at IndianaTech. We are pleased to have Mark Richter join LightSwitch! as a guest author. Mark is the Executive Director of the Center for Creative Collaboration (C3), which is the organization that put the WarriorHack together. The C3 also sponsors the Fort Wayne Inventors Club by offering its offices for our meeting space. Needless to say, we love the C3. Now, without further delay, here is Mark’s report…
The first annual WarriorHack took place over a 24-hour period beginning at 6:00 pm on February 20, 2015 and ending at 6:00 pm on February 21. The event took placed in the Multi-Flex Auditorium and Theater on Indiana Tech’s Fort Wayne campus. Most of the attendees were from the Fort Wayne area, but some came from as far as Detroit, Indianapolis, and Louisville. The event was kicked off by a welcome from Bill Soards, President of AT&T Indiana. Continue reading
Thanks to Mark Richter of Indiana Tech’s C3 (Center for Creative Collaboration), the Inventors Club has a new home base for meetings!
The C3 is located in the brand new Academic Center building at Indiana Tech’s campus just east of downtown (bordered by Washington, Jefferson, and Anthony). The space and C3 program is designed to help tech entrepreneurs grow companies.
It is a comfortable space to meet – here’s the group at the September meeting.

Sadly, we have learned that long time and very active member Dan Templeton passed away suddenly this past Sunday.
You can read his obituary in today’s Fort Wayne Journal Gazette. It highlights the richness of Dan’s life.
All of us here at the Fort Wayne Inventors Club remember Dan fondly. He was a leader and central figure of the group, always sharing his expertise generously. We wish his family the best at this sad time.
Please enjoy this photo gallery of memories.
