June Meeting

A good mix of veteran attendees and new folks here today.  Not everyone got the memo that we were supposed to wear formalwear today.  Actually, Dr. Dave has an event to DJ later this afternoon.

Also in the photo above is Greg Jacobs, President of TekVenture.  He brought us information about all of the upcoming events this summer at the TekVenture Maker Station downtown at the Allen County Public Library – and the 2nd Annual Fort Wayne Regional Maker Faire coming to Headwaters Park October 6 and 7.

Finally, the Fort Wayne Inventors Club would like to thank the Northeast Indiana Innovation Center for hosting us for the past five years.  Thanks, NIIC!

Please note – we will be moving to a new location starting next month.  Stayed tuned for news about where we will be.

May 2012 Meeting

About a dozen hardcore inventors came to the May meeting at the Northeast Indiana Innovation Center.  If you missed, you really missed a great presentation!

Jeremy Gayed of Barrett and McNagny presented a VERY thorough account of the recent changes to patent and intellectual property law.  Thanks, Jeremy!

While we are thanking people, we need to remember every so often to thank the Pizza Hut restaurant at State Street and Coliseum Boulevard for donating a few tasty pizzas for our hungry inventors!  Thanks!!

Don’t Miss the May Meeting

The next meeting of the Fort Wayne Inventor’s Club will be Saturday May 12 at noon at the Northeast Indiana Innovation Center, 3201 Stellhorn Road, Fort Wayne, IN.

Featured speaker:  Patent attorney Jeremy Gayed from the law firm of Barrett & McNagny LLP will explain the recent changes in patent law.

Invention profiles: As usual, we’ll also expect a few local inventors to present their inventions (or their latest progress with their inventions) to the group.  If you want to profile yours, just attend – no need to schedule in advance.

No admission or dues are required.

April 2012 Meeting Recap

The April meeting featured a lot of newcomers.  Interestingly enough, it turned out that two groups that got here independently were neighbors at one time!   Small world.

The whole group was good sized, and featured a great mix of successful and brand new inventors.

One of our attendees, Sam Conte, showed a newly received patent for an innovative cover for aircraft pitot tube probes.  Congrats!

Another, Kaleb Reinhart, explained how he had invented an iPad mount and just barely started to sell it when it was acquired by a large consumer products company.  It now sits on shelves at Best Buy and Kaleb receives regular royalties.  Very cool!

And, of course, we had some pizza and some great conversations.
